A lot of firms will tell you they handle business law. Most of them mean they can file your articles of organization with the Secretary of State and call it a day. Real business law is more than that. It’s internal controls. Policy and procedure. Integrating departments that were never built to talk to each other. Counseling HR through a situation nobody wrote a manual for. Internal agreements, non-disclosure agreements, the everyday infrastructure that a company runs on and rarely thinks about until it’s missing. The moment the conversation turns to a real shareholder agreement, a joint venture with actual negotiated terms, puts and calls, most firms are out of their depth. That’s not a knock on what they do well. It’s just not this.
I can do all of that. Formation done right the first time, not just filed. Partnership and shareholder agreements that reflect what everyone actually agreed to, not a template with names swapped in. Joint ventures, subcontracts, internal policy work, and the contracts that land on your desk more often than you’d like, explained in language you can actually use, not just signed and filed away.
